Discover the West on the Pacific Crest Trail
The Pacific Crets Trail - PCT is way from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) boasts the greatest elevation changes of any of America's National Scenic Trails. It´s 2.600 miles walking our hiding a horse.
Around 3 hundred people start the trail in april, and take five months to finish it. Half people give up the trail that is one of longest in USA.
CCTG is one of the hikes angels. This year there is a lot of fire here in the CCTG area, so 20 miles of the trail is closed near here. Because of it the hikes are coming to Etna and asking us accommodation, shower and laundry. They arrive here tired, dirty, and sometimes stinking... They really live into the wild in this 5 months. They need to carry all their food for the period far from the civilization.
I asked some of them, and the record of days without shower is 35 days! They call each other by nick names, a new name to be used between then, some interesting names are "Princess of Darkness", "Pedro", "Chic"...
It´s a very interest opportunity to know American people from everywhere and to know about this big challenge. And in this context CCTG is considered a angel trail...
